The police commander in charge of the final hours of the Sydney Lindt Cafe siege was today accused of bungling a terrorism incident before, resulting in an officer being shot.

The revelation came as the contents of a warning text message siege victim Tori Johnson sent to his loved ones before he was shot dead.... was read to an inquest into the siege.

Gunman Man Haron Monis killed Lindt cafe manager Tori Johnson more than 16 hours into the deadly December 2014 siege.

Hostage Katrina Dawson was also killed along with the gunman when police raided the cafe.

SBS Reporter Alyshia Gates has been at the inquest and spoke with Peggy Giakoumelos.
