The teenage wife of Sydney terror suspect Sameh Bayda had a hunting knife and documents detailing how to make an improvised explosive device, court documents say.
Alo-Bridget Namoa did not appear at Fairfield Local Court on Wednesday when the case against her was mentioned before a magistrate for the first time, a day after she was arrested by detectives at her aunt's Guildford home.
The 18-year-old Auburn woman has been charged with both recklessly possessing a thing and knowingly collecting a document connected with terrorism.
"Alo-Bridget Namoa did collect a document in Arabic text which provides instructions on how to make a detonator for an improvised explosive device connected with the preparation of a terrorist act," police allege in court documents.
It's believed the hunting knife was wrapped in a flag that has been linked to Islamic State.
Namoa did not apply for bail and it was formally refused.
The teenager's husband Sameh Bayda, also 18, was charged with terror-related offences earlier this year and remains on remand in Goulburn SuperMax jail.
Namoa was already on bail on charges of refusing to answer questions at a NSW Crime Commission hearing when she was arrested.
She is expected to face court on those charges this week, while the fresh charges against her are expected to return to court next month, where she will appear via video link.
