Sydney teenager shot on Christmas night

A Sydney teenager is refusing to help police with their inquiries despite being shot in the leg.

A teenage boy is refusing to help police after he was shot in the leg in Sydney's southwest.

Emergency services were called a Holt Street unit at Ashcroft at 7.30pm on Christmas night.

A teenager was found with a wounded leg.

However, police believe the shooting could have occurred elsewhere.

The teenager was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say that while he has spoken with investigators he is not assisting with their inquiries.

Police officers and a police dog are searching the area in Ashcroft.

Police have urged anyone with information about where the shooting occurred to contact them.
