Almost 500 people have been forced from their western Sydney units after they were flooded in suspicious circumstances, police say.

The 25 storey residential building at Olympic Park was evacuated about 2.30am on Sunday, with police saying the flooding came from what appears to be a deliberately damaged hydrant and fire control system

None of the 470 people evacuated were injured and investigations continue.
