Sydney woman hit by truck critical

A woman is in a critical condition after she was dragged 30 metres down a street by a truck in Sydney's west.

A woman is in a critical condition after she was hit by a truck and dragged more than 30 metres along a street in Sydney's west.

Police say the 33-year-old was struck shortly after 6.30am on Monday on Pitt Street in Merrylands and dragged along until the driver was flagged down.

She has been taken to Westmead Hospital where she remains in a critical but stable condition and the 26-year-old male truck driver has been taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
