Syrian government forces have seized back control of 150 villages in the north and east of Aleppo province from the hands of Islamic State, according to a report by a British war monitor.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said that in the last 72 hours, forces loyal to Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, backed by forces from the Lebanese Hezbollah and Russian artillery, regained control of nine villages.
Currently, the war front in that area is located on the outskirts of Deir al-Hafer, dominated by extremists, and where there are intense clashes between the two sides.
IS fighters are present in areas north and east of Aleppo, where the terrrorist group faces not only Syrian government forces, but also rebels, supported by the Turkish army, and the Syrian Democratic Forces, an alliance led by The Kurdish militias.
