Syria's children forced to work: aid agency

There's concern over the growing number of Syrian refugee children being forced into child labour to help their families survive.

An international aid agency is expressing concern over the growing number of Syrian refugee children being forced into child labour to help their families survive.

Care Australia says at least 80,000 Syrian children, some as young as 13, are working illegally in neighbouring Jordan and Lebanon after fleeing the civil war in Syria.

Country Program Manager for Care Australia Jenny Clement told Marc Tong the children face appalling conditions and an uncertain future.
