Ethnic Tamil activists from Sri Lanka are maintaining a campaign against the presence in Australia of Sri Lanka's President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The activists say Mr Rajapaksa should be put on trial for war crimes, for atrocities allegedly committed by Sri Lankan government military forces in the final stages of the war against Tamil Tiger rebels in 2009.
