Tas ambulances defaced amid pay row

Tasmanian ambulances have been defaced with messages of support for a paramedic pay rise and the state government is investigating.

The Tasmanian government is seeking legal advice after some of the state's ambulances were defaced with messages calling for a pay rise for paramedics, as unions remain locked in negotiations with the Liberal administration.

There is no suggestion of police action in the case, Premier Will Hodgman said on Monday.

"We want to understand what the implications might be for any individual who defaces public property like an ambulance ... we've sought advice from the solicitor general," he told reporters.
