Fire crews are bracing for soaring temperatures and soaring conditions in Tasmania.

Fire bans remain in place in northern and southern Tasmania on Sunday.

TFS spokesman Michael Watkins said five fires were controlled in the north of the state, and crews were attending to two other fires, but it was not yet known how bad those fires are.

"At 9am it was 28C in Launceston," he told AAP on Sunday.

"Winds are already at 20-30km/h which makes it difficult for fire crews."
