Tas pilot walks away from crash landing

A 61-year-old pilot has survived a crash landing in Tasmania after his plane flipped over on a beach.

A Tasmanian man has walked away uninjured after he was forced to land his light plane on a beach and it flipped.

The 61-year-old pilot of the single-engine plane had been forced to land on a beach after thick fog prevented him landing at the east coast town of Bicheno.

The plane flipped because of the soft sand but the pilot, who was the only occupant, was uninjured and walked from the area shortly after the crash landing.
