Authorities say too many young people believe it's OK to inappropriately touch strangers at a music festival, as Tasmanian police continue to investigate alleged assaults at the state's Falls Festival.
Hobart police have revealed two more women have reported they were inappropriately touched at the Falls Festival in Marion Bay at the end of 2016.
"It's quite clear that the general belief of a lot of young people is that being inappropriately touched by someone else is what happens in the moshpit," Detective Inspector Steve Burk said on Tasmania Police's Facebook page on Thursday.
"My view is if you're not comfortable treating women like that in the middle of the mall you don't treat them like that in the middle of the moshpit either."
Five young women have now complained of being sexually assaulted at the Marion Bay festival.
One girl was allegedly assaulted last Thursday in the moshpit during a performance by DJ Hot Tub Time Machine.
Another young woman reported being assaulted in the campground that night while a third girl was assaulted in the moshpit on Friday afternoon during a performance by Illy.
Tasmania Police on Thursday said when they were seeking footage from the public regarding the initial assaults they became aware that "at least two other women were inappropriately touched at Falls".
