Two years after being named Tasmanian cricket's best, Evan Gulbis was among the casualties in the Tigers' contract list for the 2016-17 Shield season.

Despite taking the gloves regularly for this season, Tom Triffitt joined Gulbis being dumped, along with spinner Clive Rose and Sean Willis.

"On behalf of the playing group and Cricket Tasmania we thank them for their contribution," Cricket Tasmania General Manager Andrew Dykes said.

Dykes said the four remaining contracted players would be announced by Friday.
