Tourism operators in Tasmania have won 10 out of 29 titles at the National Tourism Awards.

The state's Port Arthur Historic site was named the country's best major tourist attraction.

Tasmania's government estimates tourism contributes $2.4 billion to the state's economy each year.

Tasmania's Tourism Industry Council chief executive Luke Martin spoke to Biwa Kwan.
