Victoria's batsmen have feebly succumbed for a second time, handing Tasmania a thumping innings-and-136-run victory in their Sheffield Shield match at Bellerive Oval.

The ladder-leading Bushrangers were all out for 265 in their second innings on day four on Sunday, failing to contend with a bowling attack led by Evan Gulbis (4-56).

The visitors had returned to the flattening Hobart pitch early on Saturday after Tassie posted a 401-run first-innings lead.

They resumed on Sunday at 7-239, trailing by 162 runs, with Cameron White (106) and Scott Boland (51) in the midst of a 130-run stand.

But they unravelled early when White was caught behind in the third over from a Hamish Kingston (3-53) delivery.

It was a gallant effort by former Test player White who had been handed lifelines on eight and 81 - dropped at slip and fumbled by the keeper - respectively.

His contribution came from just 128 deliveries.

Boland didn't add to his overnight score and was also caught behind.

The tail held for only five overs.

Five of the Victorians failed to make double figures including Marcus Stoinis (two) and Peter Handscomb (seven).

Tassie keeper Tom Triffitt took six catches.

The modest effort follows Victoria's first-innings total of 165, which came during Thursday's opening two sessions.

Tasmania's victory was sealed by their first innings of 8(dec)-566 thanks to centuries by opener Ben Dunk (190), former Test batsman Alex Doolan (119) and skipper George Bailey (107).

It was Tasmania's second win for the season and Victoria's second loss.
