Taupau accepts plea, cops three matches

Manly will be without Marty Taupau for three matches after he accepted an early guilty plea from the NRL match review panel for a dangerous throw.

Manly's Martin Taupau will miss three NRL matches after submitting an early guilty plea for his dangerous throw on Brisbane's Matt Gillett.

Taupau will be out of action against Cronulla, Canberra and Penrith and won't be back on the field until the match against Gold Coast on June 20 as the Sea Eagles have a bye in round 12.

Warriors centre Solomone Kata will miss the New Zealand club's match with Canberra in New Plymoth on Saturday after pleading guilty to dangerous contact on Penrith's Jamie Soward.

They'll be joined on the sideline by St George Illawarra's Joel Thompson, who accepted the early guilty plea for his third high tackle in eight matches and will miss only the clash with South Sydney on Thursday night.

Meanwhile Parramatta pair Beau Scott and Isaac De Gois each took early pleas for tripping charges from last Friday's loss to the Rabbitohs, meaning they are free to play Melbourne on Monday night.

And the Wests Tigers' Justin Hunt accepted the early guilty plea for his coathanger high tackle on Canterbury's Moses Mbye and will be free to play against Newcastle on Saturday.

No players were charged from the Gold Coast's win over the Sydney Roosters on Monday night.
