Three major business groups have left it almost to the last minute to dispel the notion planned company tax cuts will just feather the nests of the big end of town.

With a coalition win looking more likely than not on Saturday, the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Business Council of Australia and the Australia Industry Group felt compelled to explain how a cut in the corporate tax rate to 25 per cent over the next decade will increase investment and create more jobs.

"A company tax cut will offer a great boost to Australia's economy and build resilience against the volatile forces of change happening around the world," they said in a joint statement on Thursday.
