Taylor parts ways with Toronto Wolfpack

Former NRL forward Dave Taylor has departed the Toronto Wolfpack without playing a game for the North American expansion franchise.

Dave Taylor's rugby league career is in limbo after the colourful forward's departure from the Toronto Wolfpack without playing a game.

Taylor, former Parramatta cult figure Fui Fui Moi Moi and ex-English Test prop Ryan Bailey were let go by the North American expansion franchise two weeks out from their first game of the season.

After leaving Canberra, Taylor signed with the Wolfpack, who will in 2018 play in the English second division and are attempting to earn promotion into the Super League.

The club are now in a precarious position after letting go of three of their biggest names.

The club did comment on the reasons for Taylor's departure but released a statement confirming he was leaving.

"Fuifui Moimoi, Ryan Bailey and Dave Taylor have left Toronto Wolfpack by mutual agreement," the club said.

"The club thank the players for their efforts and we wish them well in their future careers."

During stints at Brisbane, South Sydney, Gold Coast and Canberra, Taylor has been accused of failing to fulfil his potential.

The 29-year-old former Queensland and Australian representative appears short on options to continue his career after he failed to play regular first-grade at the Raiders last year.
