Wests Tigers coach Jason Taylor remains undecided on how to best use hooker Robbie Farah after he was left out of the NRL club's loss to Sydney Roosters.

Farah was rested from the clash with the Roosters after playing in NSW's State of Origin loss on Wednesday.

Taylor resisted the temptation to bring his hooker, who struggled with concussion issues before Origin, into his side after back-up rake Matt Ballin withdrew through injury. Instead utility Elijah Taylor played dummy half in the loss to the Roosters.

"We thought it was the right thing right from the start and continued to think it was the right thing," Taylor said.

"It was really important to have a strong team in the middle of the field there today and what Robbie had been through with the last couple of weeks we just thought that was right."

Ballin is no certainty to be available for the Tigers round 14 match with South Sydney on Friday. However Taylor was not definitive about how he would use Farah.

The Tigers have won one from seven with Farah this season and won four from six without him.

When asked if he would rush Farah back in for the Souths clash, Taylor said: "I assume so ... We will look at that.

"Each week stands on its own, we will work out exactly what is happening next week with our team."
