Teen charged for paver thrown at NSW train

A western Sydney teenager has been charged with throwing a paver into the path of an oncoming train.

A teenage boy has been charged with throwing a pressed-rubber paver into the path of a speeding train in Sydney's west.

It's alleged the boy dropped the 500g paver from a footbridge at Toongabbie Railway Station about 4.15pm on Thursday.

Two 14-year-old boys were arrested at the station about 30 minutes later - one allegedly with a knife stuffed down his pants.

One of the teens, from Toongabbie, was charged with dropping something on or towards a public passenger vehicle, wielding a knife in public, assault, destroying property and smoking in a public place.

He was bailed to appear in a children's court next month.

The second youth, from Doonside, will be dealt with by a youth caution for malicious damage.
