A 15-year-old boy has been charged over an armed robbery at a milk bar in Melbourne.

The Preston youth has been charged with armed robbery, assault and weapons-related offences, police say.

He will front a children's court at a later date accused of assaulting a staff member and committing armed robbery at a Preston store on Sunday morning.
