A teenager will appear in court after allegedly filming up the skirt school student in Sydney's North Shore.

Following a complaint by an 18-year-old female student, the 19-year-old boy was stopped by police as he tried to leave the Hornsby Railway Station on Thursday afternoon.

Two phones were seized by police, one of which allegedly had inappropriate images of the school girl on it.

The teenage boy was charged with filming a person's private parts without consent and refused bail to appear at Hornsby Local Court on Friday.
