Teens injured in NSW school bus crash

A bus full of school children and their driver have been taken to hospital after a crash on the NSW north coast.

Six school children are in hospital in a serious condition after a bus crash on the NSW north coast.

The bus left the road and ended up on its side at Fernbank, near Port Macquarie, about 3.45pm on Tuesday.

A NSW ambulance spokesman said about 30 people were assessed at the scene with six patients taken to hospital in serious but stable conditions.

They suffered injuries ranging from limb fractures to suspected spinal injuries.

The bus driver was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

The spokesman said all the remaining patients were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

All patients, except the driver, were teenagers.
