Telstra says it will cooperate with a probe by the corporate watchdog into movements in its share price ahead of its National Broadband Network deal being announced.

There are concerns insider trading may have been behind a surge in the company's share price late last week before the deal that will see it participate in the rollout of the NBN was announced on Sunday.

Almost 200 million dollars worth of Telstra shares were traded on Friday in what was the busiest day for the stock in two weeks.
