Rinky Hijikata has been Australia's top ranked junior in his age group for the past five years.
The 16-year-old was born in Sydney to Japanese migrant parents and that fact makes him eligible to also represent the land of their birth.
But right now all Rinky wants to do is help Australia win September's Junior Davis Cup title.
"Being able to represent Australia in under 16's is a great honour," he told SBS World News.
Rinky's father was a tennis coach, and he first held a racquet at the age of three.

Thirteen years later he's the one to beat in his age group in Australia.
He's juggling school studies with training at the Sydney branch of the National Tennis Academy, but he knows he's only an injury away from his sporting dreams being over.
"It's always important to have a backup plan," he said.
Hijikata is working at the academy under the expert eye of National Manager Jaslyn Hewitt-Shehadie, Lleyton Hewitt's sister.
She's been impressed with his attitude to training and his studies.
"He's very dilligent in his studies, so hopefully all that will combine and he'll progress nicely," she told SBS World News.
Hewitt-Shehadie says Hijikata will probably be Australia's number one player in the Junior Davis Cup team at September's tournament in Hungary.
