The teenage bride of an alleged terrorist is expected to fight terror charges levelled against her.
Alo-Bridget Namoa, 18, was arrested by detectives at her aunt's Guildford home on Tuesday morning as part of an ongoing counter-terrorism investigation in Sydney.
She has been taken into custody and charged with recklessly possessing an item connected to a terrorist act and recklessly collecting documents connected to a terrorist act.
"We will be alleging that the item that she had possession of was a knife and we will be alleging that the documents that we collected were related to that act also," NSW Police Deputy Commissioner Catherine Burn told reporters on Tuesday.
The Auburn teen is already facing 31 charges in relation to her failure to answer questions put to her by the NSW Crime Commission earlier this month.
The teen would not to be interviewed on Tuesday and will fight the latest allegations, her lawyer Sophie Toomey told reporters outside Burwood Local Court.
Her family was devastated, Ms Toomey said.
"I think they're quite shocked. They're stunned ... she's their 18-year-old daughter," she said.
"They were helping her in every way they could to comply with her bail and there's no suggestion that she was non-compliant with that bail, so at this point they're rallying together and hoping to see her in the next couple of days."
Ms Toomey indicated Namoa is not expected to apply for bail when she appears before Fairfield Local Court on Wednesday.
"We anticipate eventually there will be an application for bail but we also anticipate these are going to be serious offences with which she's charged and there may well be some difficulties," she said.
