The team may have already been picked but there was no shortage of advice for national selector Mark Waugh at the Gabba on Friday night.
The pressure was supposed to be off Waugh after the Test squad for Australia's third Test against Pakistan in Sydney was unveiled earlier on Friday.
However, it didn't stop Waugh feeling the heat as Big Bash League TV commentator thanks to Channel Ten colleague, ex-England Test batsman Kevin Pietersen.
Waugh at times looked uncomfortable sitting alongside Pietersen as the South African-born batsman took him to task, even wondering how he had kept his job as one of four selectors.
Pietersen first ribbed Waugh for resting fast bowlers Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc on their recent one-day tour of South Africa, which Australia lost 5-0.

Then he gave his two cents on spin duo Ashton Agar and Steve O'Keefe being added to the Sydney Test squad at the expense of Nic Maddinson and Chadd Sayers.
"Glenn Maxwell has got to play," Pietersen said of the Victorian allrounder.
"Having watched a lot of cricket and played in the modern day era he is one of the better players in the world."
Waugh interjected: "I don't think anyone will disagree with you."
Pietersen continued: "You missed a trick Junior (Waugh), like you did against South Africa.
"I am surprised you still have a job to be fair."
Waugh tried to laugh off the ribbing before Pietersen rammed home his point about Maxwell.
"He can bat at six, he can give you a few overs of off spin and get you some wickets and his fielding is phenomenal - he's a freak show in the field," Pietersen said.
"Give him a run (batting) at six and he will change the game."
There was no respite for Waugh with the BBL broadcast then highlighting Shane Warne's thoughts on Heat leggie Mitch Swepson.
The Queensland leg spinner clearly impressed Warne with 1-32 off four overs to help restrict Hobart to 9-173 at a sold out Gabba.
"Now Australia have won the series against Pakistan. I would love to see young Swepson in the playing 11 as the 2nd spinner at the SCG," Warne tweeted.
"I wasn't ready at the time the selectors threw me into the playing 11 v India, but the experience helped me for the rest of my career!"
