NASA spaceflight Apollo 11 took Armstrong and fellow American astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins on the mission.

The landing was broadcast live on television around the world.

Brian O'Brien is a Professor or Physics at the University of Western Australia.

In 1969 he was working with NASA, leading experiments into the dust brought back from the moon's surface.
