Thank you reception for cave rescuer team

Governor-General Peter Cosgrove will host a special reception for nine Australians involved in the Thai cave rescue.

Nine Australians involved in the Thai cave rescue will be given a special national thank you reception hosted by Governor-General Peter Cosgrove at Government House in Canberra next week.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Opposition Leader Bill Shorten will attend Tuesday's reception - the first time the rescuers have been together since returning to Australia on July 13.

Mr Turnbull has previously described the effort to rescue 12 boys and their 25-year-old soccer coach as one of the most extraordinary acts of heroism, professionalism, discipline and teamwork.
