THE IMPACT OF WILD WEATHER IN FAR NORTH AND CENTRAL QUEENSLAND

FLOOD WARNINGS

There are major flood warnings for the Kolan River and Baffle Creek and Burrum River and Cherwell River Catchments in the Wide Bay-Burnett region.

SES

The SES had about 80 requests for assistance over the last 24 hours, with the majority coming from the Bundaberg region.

ELECTRICITY

In the far north, 2052 homes have lost power, while there's been more than 330 power outages in central Queensland and Wide Bay.

CROPS

Hundreds of sugarcane, capsicum and tomato farms have suffered crop damage.

ROADS

More than 70 road closures are in place across Gladstone, Wide Bay and Burnett and the Sunshine Coast areas.

SCHOOLS

Eight schools and four early childhood education and care centres remain closed due to flooding.

DAMS

Thirteen dams are above storage capacity and spilling.
