A Lebanese man whose wife and eight children drowned off the coast of Indonesia says he will still leave his village for a new life elsewhere - but he won't attempt another boat trip.

He was on board the boat carrying about 80 people from Lebanon, Iran and Iraq, as it broke apart near West Java in September.

18 people from the tiny Lebanese village of Qabeit died in the tragedy.

Dateline's Yaara Bou Melhem travelled with him as he returned to his home village.

She tells Ildi Amon Qabeit is about three hours' drive from Beirut, very near the border with Syria.
