The Victorian election hustings: day four

The Victorian opposition has promised bayside housing height restrictions and the Greens have lost a candidate as the state's election race continues.

THURSDAY - DAY FOUR

WHERE THEY WENT

* Daniel Andrews: Pakenham (Bass electorate)

* Matthew Guy: Carrum

WHAT THEY SAID:

* "What there's a danger of is inappropriate development along every single street, every single cul-de-sac, every single avenue in our bayside suburbs because skyrail has now set a height precedent." - Matthew Guy promising bayside height restrictions

* "She's recognised the seriousness of it, when they came to light she has made the decision to withdraw." - Greens leader Samantha Ratnam on the resignation of candidate Joanna Nilson over inappropriate Facebook posts

* "This is about a better station, a third platform instead of trying to squeeze into station that's just not fit for purpose." - Premier Daniel Andrews on a new rail station for Pakenham

TODAY'S PROMISES:

LABOR

- Removal of level crossings along the Pakenham line using skyrail and a new "super station"

LIBERAL-NATIONALS

- Mandatory eight-metre (two storey) height controls in residential areas along the foreshore between Mentone and Frankston

- $100,000 grant to support the work of Mums Supporting Families in Need in the community
