Thousands of Australians have jumped to the defence of SBS World Cup host Lucy Zelić after she was trolled on social media.
Some social media users had criticised Ms Zelić's proper pronunciations of football players' names, leading to fellow host Craig Foster addressing the issue on Tuesday.
"The way you use language is the most important way to show respect to someone," he said during SBS coverage of the World Cup.
"If you can't get someone's name right, it says that you’ve got no regard, you haven’t done the work, you haven't tried."
And it seems much of Australia agrees.
SBS News social media channels have been inundated with comments in support of Ms Zelić.
Some users said it reflected the true multicultural nature of Australia.
While others have related to the episode on a very personal level.
