To mark 25 years since the Berlin Wall fell, an art project will temporarily recreate the historical divide between the East and West of the city.
The project named Lichtgrenze, will install 8,000 luminous white balloons stretched across 15 kilometres, retracing a path that in many places has been almost erased.
The white balloons will weave past parts of the city, including the Reichstag, the Brandenburg Gate and Checkpoint Charlie.
The balloons will then be released in unison with messages attached to them, as Beethoven's 9th Symphony is played in the background.
The project will run from November 7 to November 9, the official date of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

The installment is the centrepiece in a series of interactive programs held for the 25th anniversary of the Berlin Wall, including an open-air exhibition which will show 100 Wall stories at the sites they took place.
“Large format screens at selected public locations will show impressive film collages made from historic, often little-known footage of the time the Berlin Wall fell," the organisers said in a statement.
"Three of these public venues will also offer extensive guided tours courtesy of Museum Service Berlin."
German Chancellor Angela Merkel will also be inaugurating a new permanent exhibition at the Berlin Wall Memorial.
