Three arrested in Victorian bikie raids

Victorian police have arrested three men and seized guns and drugs following raids on properties associated with bikie gangs.

Three men have been arrested and firearms, drugs and money seized as part of a police crackdown on Victorian bikie gangs.

Police raided two bikie clubhouses and a private house in Melbourne and the regional city of Ballarat on Thursday morning.

A 26-year-old man believed to be affiliated with the Hells Angels' Seaford chapter was arrested at a house at Balwyn North.

Drugs, ammunition, a large quantity of money and a safe were also seized.

In Ballarat, officers executed a search warrant at the Scoundrels bikie clubhouse where they seized four firearms, drugs, a large quantity of money and alcohol that police believe was being sold without the appropriate licence.

One person was arrested.

Police also raided the Hells Angels clubhouse at Seaford but nothing was seized.

And police said that in an unrelated incident, another man believed to be a senior office bearer with the Hells Angels Seaford chapter was arrested and is being interviewed by police.

On Wednesday, a 23-year-old man was charged with firearms and drug offences, as well as assaulting police, following a raid on a bikie clubhouse at Yarraville that was the target of a shooting on the weekend.

The raids are part of Operation Resound, which was set up in March amid rising tensions between outlaw motorcycle gangs.

Detective Inspector Ian Campbell said police have seized seven firearms associated with bikie gangs in the past 10 days.

"There is no place in our community for those that think they can seek their own justice and take the law into their own hands," he said.
