About 400 demonstrators moved from Town Hall to Martin Place yesterday afternoon, but tensions flared when some members tried to put up a tent in Hyde Park.

Occupy Sydney activists have described the police actions as unlawful.

A 22-year-old man was charged with failing to comply with police directions.

A 45-year-old man was charged with behaving in an offensive manner in a public place and a 29-year-old man has been charged with two counts of resisting police, and one count of escaping police custody.
