Three escape Vic plane crash unharmed

Three people have escaped a plane crash in Victoria caused by a gust of wind which flipped the aircraft.

Three people have escaped a plane crash southeast of Melbourne without injury after a gust of wind flipped the small aircraft off course as it was coming in to land.

The small plane crashed in a ditch at Tooradin airport because of strong winds just after 1.30pm on Friday, Victoria Police said.

Paramedics treated the trio, a female pilot and a male and female passenger, for shock but they were not taken to hospital.

The plane was almost destroyed in the crash and the Australian Safety Transport Bureau has been notified of the incident.
