Three people have been injured, one seriously, after an explosive device was hurled at a group of revellers near Broome.
The group were socialising at the One Mile Community on Tuesday night when what police described as an "ignited object" was thrown out of a car.
A 43-year-old woman suffered serious injuries to her hand and leg when she picked up the device, which then exploded. She has been flown to Perth for emergency surgery.
Two other people, including a 13-year-old girl, were also injured.
The girl's hearing and eyesight were affected, and a man suffered spinal injuries as he attempted to flee. The motive for the apparent attack, at around 7pm (WST), is unclear.
Local police are appealing for information.
