Three killed as UN base in Mali attacked

A UN spokesman says three people have been killed in a rocket attack on a UN base in northern Mali.

Two UN peacekeepers and civilian have been killed after unknown assailants fired rockets at a UN peacekeeping base in Kidal in northern Mali, a UN spokesman says.

"They fired rockets from around 4am inside the MINUSMA camp," said Olivier Salgado, Deputy Chief of Communication in the peacekeeping mission.

"We have three dead and four seriously injured."
