Three miners have been seriously injured at an underground gold mine in Western Australia's Goldfields region.
The men were injured at Agnew Gold Mine when sheets of metal mesh fell on them about 5am (WST) Tuesday.
They are believed to be in a serious but stable condition. A 31-year-old man suffered chest injuries, a 26-year-old has a fractured wrist and possible spinal injuries, and a 38-year-old man has a fractured leg.
The Royal Flying Doctor Service has sent two planes to Leinster Hospital to bring the men to Perth for further treatment.
The Department of Mines and Petroleum says mine safety inspectors are making inquiries into the incident, which will be subject to a formal and thorough investigation.

"The department will take any necessary, appropriate action upon collection of all evidence," a spokeswoman said.
