Three more Victorian seats declared

Three-of-four final seats in the Victorian state election have been declared, with just 15 votes separating the winner and loser in the electorate of Ripon.

All but one of the final four districts in the Victorian state election have been officially declared, with just 15 votes separating the winner and loser in the electorate of Ripon.

The ultra-tight seat of Ripon in northwest Melbourne went to sitting Liberal MP Louise Staley, the Victorian Electoral Commission formally declared on Monday.

Earlier, Premier Daniel Andrews opted to hold off conceding the seat until official results came in.

The Liberals retained Benambra by 2029 votes and South-West Coast, by 1900 votes.

Labor has taken South Barwon from the Liberals by 4445 votes but official results for that seat will be declared at 4pm.

The VEC has now completed 85 formal declarations for the 88-seat Legislative Assembly since November 30.

The Andrews government was returned for a second term with a solid majority of 52 seats.

The Liberal Party has 21, with shadow attorney-general John Pesutto the opposition's highest-profile loser after being pipped by Labor in Hawthorn.

Their coalition partners, the Nationals, have six seats, and the Greens claimed three.

The VEC will declare upper house results on Monday evening.
