The man accused of firing a Dirty Harry-style .44 calibre Magnum gun at the head of one of the members of Australian stripping troupe Thunder From Down Under has been indicted by a grand jury in Las Vegas.
The jury on Friday charged Joey Kadmiri on 17 criminal counts, including attempted murder and burglary while in possession of a firearm.
Las Vegas prosecutors allege the 24-year-old snuck backstage at the dancers' popular strip show in the Excalibur Casino on March 18.
When one of the buffed dancers, Ryan Paki, noticed Kadmiri going through their uniforms, a brawl erupted, Kadmiri pulled out the gun and fired a shot at the head of troupe member Scott Berchtold, it was alleged.
As the trigger was pulled one of the dancers allegedly pushed the gun away and a bullet hit the wall in change room.

Kadmiri was carrying 2.1 grams of methamphetamine when arrested, according to the indictment.
During a jailhouse interview with Las Vegas media on March 21, Kadmiri said he suffered from hallucinations that cause him to believe everyone is a police officer out to get him and he self-medicates with methamphetamine.
Kadmiri remains in custody on $US500,000 ($A543,065) bail.
He will be arraigned on April 17.
Other charges in the indictment include seven counts of robbery with use of a deadly weapon, battery with use of a deadly weapon resulting in substantial bodily harm, discharging a firearm in a structure, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm by an ex-felon.
The .44 calibre Magnum was made famous by Clint Eastwood in his Dirty Harry films.
