Thunder to bowl v Scorchers in vital BBL

The Sydney Thunder will bowl first in their must-win Big Bash League clash with the Scorchers in Perth.

The Sydney Thunder have won the toss and will bowl first in their must-win Big Bash League match against the Perth Scorchers at the WACA Ground.

The Thunder have lost their opening three games of BBL06 against the Sydney Sixers, Melbourne Renegades and Brisbane Heat.

Another loss in Perth against the Scorchers and it could be curtains on the finals hopes of the defending champions.

Captain Shane Watson decided the best chance was to bowl first against the Scorchers and attempt to chase down the winning runs. Perth come into the clash in good form, though, following wins over the Renegades and Adelaide Strikers.

The Thunder have made one change from the team who lost at home to the Heat on Wednesday with wicketkeeper Jay Lenton in for Jake Doran.

The Scorchers have a forced change with the hero from Thursday's win over the Renegades, Ashton Agar, out after being called into Australia's squad for the third Test against Pakistan. His place has been taken by Jhye Richardson.

Scorchers: Adam Voges (capt), Shaun Marsh, Michael Klinger, Ian Bell, Mitch Marsh, Ashton Turner, Sam Whiteman, David Willey, Mitchell Johnson, Jhye Richardson, Andrew Tye, Cameron Bancroft (12th man)

Thunder: Shane Watson (capt), Kurtis Patterson, Ryan Gibson, Eoin Morgan, Ben Rohrer, Jay Lenton, Chris Green, Pat Cummins, Andre Russell, Clint McKay, Fawad Ahmed, Aiden Blizzard (12th man)
