Tiger flights still grounded

Tiger Airways Australia remains grounded until at least Wednesday, with a court hearing about its suspension adjourned for a third time.

The grounding was due to expire on Monday but a Federal Court directions hearing set down for Monday has been put off until Wednesday.

The airline said it was continuing talks with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) and both had agreed to a further adjournment.

Tiger said its flights would remain suspended until at least Wednesday and described reports that it will be back in the air on Friday as speculation.

The air safety regulator has issued the airline, which has been grounded since July 1, with a set of formal conditions it has to meet before it can resume flights.

Tiger last week indicated that Friday was the earliest its domestic flights may resume and said it was confident it could meet CASA's conditions and resume services in the near future.

The airline has said it will automatically refund any passengers booked to fly between Monday and Thursday.
