Richmond's Bachar Houli has injured his right wrist at training, ruling the experienced defender out of Saturday night's AFL match against Sydney.

The 28-year-old has been an ever-present member of the Tigers' lineup since crossing from Essendon six years ago, playing 118 of a possible 120 matches.

He will see a specialist to determine the seriousness of the injury.

Taylor Hunt has been called up to replace Houli against the Swans.
