Tigers eye Bennett as Cleary cover: Report

Wests Tigers are considering a move for Wayne Bennett after reportedly being asked about their interest in signing the NRL coach when his Brisbane deal expires.

Brisbane coach Wayne Bennett is reportedly on Wests Tigers' radar as a potential replacement for Ivan Cleary.

The Tigers were approached to gauge their interest in taking on the seven-time NRL premiership winning coach when his Broncos contract expires at the end of next season, The Australian reports.

They are believed to be weighing up the potential move with the Tigers resigned to losing Cleary - before his contract expires at the end of the 2020 season - to Penrith, where he will coach his son Nathan.
