Rising boxing star Tim Tszyu has recovered from an early knockdown to win his first professional title, and former world champion Sakio Bika has moved closer to another world title shot.

Both men earned unanimous ten round points decisions on a multi-title card at The Star in Sydney on Sunday.

The eldest son of former junior welterweight world champion Kostya Tszyu, 22-year-old Tim was floored by Wade Ryan in the first round, but came back to win the vacant WBC Asian Boxing Council continental light middleweight title.

The victory improved his professional record to 7-0, though it was his longest bout and just the second time he was gone the distance.

Former WBC super middleweight Champion Bika won the vacant WBC International Silver title against tough Serb Geard Ajetovic, despite being penalised two points for low blows.
