Titans coach chasing big bopper Boyd

Gold Coast coach Garth Brennan has confirmed the Titans' interest in off-contract Canberra forward Shannon Boyd.

Off-contract Canberra forward Shannon Boyd could wind up in Queensland if Gold Coast coach Garth Brennan has his way.

The powerful Australian representative faces an uncertain future in the nation's capital, but the Titans loom as a potential NRL suitor.

Boyd's potential move north will depend on whether Gold Coast can lock in a deal for their Queensland Origin prop Jarrod Wallace.

The club has offered Wallace a mammoth four-year deal to stay, but he is yet to commit and the Titans are becoming concerned with the delay.

Brennan said there was huge upside in Boyd and will ramp up talks if Wallace departs.

"We're looking at all good options out there and Shannon is one of a few," Brennan said.

"There has been nothing formalised or any major steps forwards. It's just talk.

"He is a big body and gives you some punch in the line. He gives you aggression.

"Whether that progresses or anything comes of it, I don't know. Our No.1 priority is Jarrod."

Boyd is one of 10 Raiders coming off contract, including Josh Papalii, Blake Austin, Aidan Sezer and Sia Soliola.

Junior Paulo is another, but it's expected he will return to his former club Parramatta on a huge four-year deal from next season.
