Titans get good news on concussion front

Gold Coast's Michael Gordon and Tyrone Roberts remain in the hunt to play in the NRL's Magic Round against South Sydney after passing initial concussion tests.

Michael Gordon and Tyrone Roberts have shaken off any serious concussion concerns, but Gold Coast teammate Phillip Sami will need scans on an injured ankle.

Gordon, Roberts and Sami all failed to finish the Titans' 14-point loss to North Queensland on Friday night, leaving the Gold Coast with just one man on the bench.

The Titans have a short turnaround into Thursday night's Magic Round opener against South Sydney, but at least received some good news on Saturday.

Both Roberts and Gordon passed their first post-match concussion test, but will need to beat another one to play.

If either fail, Alexander Brimson could slot in at either fullback or five-eighth for the struggling club.

Meanwhile, the Titans are unsure on the fitness of Sami, with the 21-year-old yet to discover the full extent of an ankle injury that forced him from the field early.
