Jarrod Wallace's NRL season is over after the Gold Coast skipper was given a three-week ban for a shoulder charge.

The Titans' week from hell was worsened on Sunday after Wallace was cited by the match review committee for a hit on Canterbury's Moses Mbye.

Wallace was charged with a grade three offence for the tackle on Saturday, meaning he will miss three weeks if he accepts an early guilty plea and five weeks if he fights the case and loses.

He looks all but certain to miss his side's final round clash with the Sydney Roosters and his likely ban will carry into the 2018 pre-season.

Meanwhile South Sydney skipper Sam Burgess has escaped suspension for his high tackle on Melbourne's Dale Finucane.

Burgess was charged with a grade one careless high tackle and can accept a $1350 fine with an early guilty plea.

His Rabbitohs forwards partner Zane Musgrove wasn't so lucky and can accept a one-match ban for his shoulder charge on Jordan McLean.

Cronulla prop Chris Heighington can avoid suspension if he pleads guilty to a dangerous contact charge for a tackle on Boyd Cordner.
